Spirit Guides: Who are they?

Spirit Guides are non-physical beings or spiritual entities that are connected with us on a Soul level to provide teachings, wisdom, support and sometimes protection. They can be deceased loved ones or ancestors, angels, archangels, animals or even ascended masters like Jesus, Buddha or Quan Yin.
Personally, I prefer to identify my Spirit Guides as my "Inspirers" or "Spirit Teachers," and my most favorite way to refer to them is to call them my "Spirit Team." The reason for this is because I believe that the word "Guide" speaks of being led or instructed by being told what to do, and for me, this takes away the sense of free will to make my own decisions.
As a medium, I also refer to them as my Spirit Team because not only do they provide assistance in my communication with the Spirit World, they also provide wisdom, love, support, protection, creativity and healing. They are an essential part of what I do as a medium, and as such I am treated as a valued member of the Spirit Team. In other words, although I am still embodied in human form, I am an essential team member.
I believe we all have Spirit Teams and that some of our team members have been with us since we were first born while others come and go during our lives based on when the need for their assistance arises and then diminishes. While all the members of our team are always loving, supporting and watching over us, I believe that these team members or Inspirers are broken up into three archetypes:
Sages & Scholars - these are the team members that provide knowledge, divine insight and wisdom so that we may pass it on to others.
Creatives - these are the team members that provide inspiration in communication, music, art, poetry/writing and our ability to release these gifts into the world for the greatest good.
Healers - these are the team members that channel their energy through us to bring healing into the world in service to humanity by giving us the ability to utilize different modalities (e.g. Evidential Mediumship, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch).
While each individuals' Spirit Team can be comprised of any number of each of these archetypes, we all have our own team of which we are an essential and valued member, and I do believe that some of our team members may overlap with the teams of others as the need arises.
I have met many people who have been able to identify one or more of the members of their Spirit Team by name and physical description which is a wonderful ability. For me, I have never been interested in or felt the need to identify any of my team members by name or appearance as they have given me more than enough reassurance to know that they are always there and that they have my back. Without their love and support, I would not be able to accomplish what I do as an Evidential Medium. They are truly my Soul Family and have my complete trust. I only hope my service to the Spirit World will enable them to trust and rely upon me as much as I trust and rely upon them.
Have you had experiences with your own Inspirers from the Spirit World? I'd love to know more about your relationship to them and how they interact with you.
Until next time - love, light and blessings.
